Louie (1967)
Animal
Outfit: Orange Fur / Bananas / Occasional grass hula skirt Tagline: "Right Turn Clyde!!" Plot summary: King Louie meets Mowgli as Baghira and Baloo are leading him to the Man Village, and away from the hungry maw of Shere Khan. Louie wants to be like men, and in his mind, that means having the power of fire. I would think an electric razor, some boxer shorts, a tiny sports car he barely fits in, a remote control that no one else is allowed to touch, and perhaps a bottle of Brut would be required in there somewhere as well, but maybe that's just me. (more) User Comments: Louie is probably my favorite character in this film. He has no pretensions, no games. He knows exactly what he wants, and he knows what he feels he needs to do to get it. But he's an ape, and a Damned, Dirty Ape at that. In the end, the best he can hope for is making obnoxious gas noises with his lips and giving the right cross to bald overweight bikers. That or enduring 90 minutes of Kevin Smith's dick and fart jokes. Hell, he couldn't even get a gig in the sequel! true, this was because the original voice actor has been dead for years, but when you have Sir Lawrence Olivier still getting acting gigs in movies like Sky Captain, that's hardly an excuse. (Of note: Check out the closing credits. the little boy elephant was played by a young Clint Howard, a b-movie former Whatever-dude.com cult hero. Funny to think he grew up to pour hot wax on his nipples in Little Nicky.) User Rating:
